Nonprofit Organization
The mission of The Barefoot Children is to help every child in Africa with a pair of shoes. We believe every child growing up should have the opportunity to walk in shoes towards their future. Thousands of children walk to school every day without shoes, making them susceptible to fungal infections and other diseases that make it hard to lead happy healthy lives. Children have so much to offer to the world. We believe in the power they hold, and know that they will mold future generations to come. At The Barefoot Children, we are here to give them the support they need to shape them into leaders of the future.
How You Can Help! The goal of this non-profit organization is to provide shoes to children in need. You can help this mission by donating new or gently used shoes or making a cash gift. Your donations will help ensure children are able to remain healthy and stay in school.Founder Sam Kamara Marvie
I was born in the West African country Libera and moved to America when I was 8 years old, I was lucky enough to have parents that made it out and brought me with them to America. My years in Africa, like many of the children there, were filled with hardships. One of the many hardships my friends and I grew up with was the fact that we didn’t have shoes. This is where my non-profit, The Barefoot Children, comes into play. I’ve always wanted to help the kids back home who, like me when I was young, are growing up without shoes and are susceptible to fungal infections and other diseases contracted through their bare feet.
Thank you,
